The above preview features four variations of the zoom tool controls. You select between them using the buttons at the bottom left of the preview. Keep in mind that these variants are not merely skins as they not only mix and match different visual elements but functionality as well.
ABOUT THE PREVIEW
Please note that the preview's sole purpose is to showcase the tool in action. With the exception of the zoom tool itself, the other assets that make up the preview are not provided upon purchase(ie. the custom radio buttons and rest of the footer bar). These are a part of my brand and are meant purely for promotional purposes and are likely to be used when advertising other items.
FEATURES AT A GLANCE
Cardinal-Pan Control (Component)
Dynamic pan control with movement constrained to the cardinal directions (North, South, East and West). Pan speed can be changed as user interacts with the tool.
Omni-Pan Control (Component)
Pan in any direction while simultaneously controlling pan speed in real-time!
Zoom and Reset Buttons with optional Radial Slider(Component)
Zoom-in, zoom-out and default reset buttons. Optional radial slider to control zooming.
Relative Zoom Focal (aka. Zoom-to-point)
Unlike most common implementations zooming is not strictly center-aligned. Zoom to any point on the image! Dynamic “zoom focal” scales content relative to the current pan position. Visibly track the zoom focal with cross-hair widget.
Mouse-wheel Support (Windows Only)
Zoom in and out using the mouse-wheel. Note: With regard to mouse wheel support for the MAC, there are possible workarounds (info provided upon request) but I cannot attest to their viability(I work primarily with PCs).

@Kmax: Unfortunately this item hasn't proven to be profitable so it's unlikely I'll make any effort to upgrade it anytime soon. Still, I probably won't write it off completely and will probably revisit the idea sometime in the future as AS3 has some cool feature that would speed up the performance of this tool considerably. Can't say when though :(. I'd like to express my thanks again for buying the item.
Are you going to make this for as3? It's a great little utility and would be well worth it to do.
Thank you:-) I have not had a chance to try that yet as i've been very busy with my map making activities. I appreciate your follow through bro!
Cheers, Ken
I omitted something crucial from my last post. You also need to set the "initScale" and "resetScale" parameters to zero. The "initScale" parameter sets the initial scale of the image on startup. The "resetScale" parameter represents the scale the image changes to once you press the reset button. If you're still having issues with the tool you can send me your project files via email attachment to my gmail account [email removed by admin] for me to troubleshoot.
Hey thx for getting back to me about this murray:-) I'm still having problems. I followed your instructions but no luck with the saltspring island map. the swf file i'm trying to zoom and pan on is 2633 pixels high and 1800 pixels wide. No matter what i do, i cannot get it to zoom out all the way.
