@pcos: There is no maximum no of items you can show unlimited items.

Yes it is possible to pull data from MySql database.
For that you just need to write an php or any server side script and then replace that script file link with xml file. and it will work.

(1) What is the maximum number of news items your product can contain? Is it limited or unlimited?
